A new song is on the way: “Beauty Keeper”

It’s been a while since I’ve shared an update here. After releasing my last EP nearly five months ago, a series of life events led me to step back from releasing music, social media, and this community. I also put my own musical pursuits on hold.

Over the past few months, I’ve been thinking about how I want to share music, how I want to show up for my family, and how I want to stay connected with the people who support my work. I’ve decided to share a song I recorded a few years ago: “Beauty Keeper.”

It’s a love song for my wife Michaela. I’ve written very few songs for her because I’ve often felt I couldn’t do justice to who she is or to what we’ve built together. I’m proud of this song, and I’m releasing it on our wedding anniversary, November 9.

“Beauty Keeper” is built around memories of traveling together. Its opening chorus line is the heart of it: “I only see the world when I’m with you.”

Starting today, I’ll share one photo from our travels each day leading up to the release. The first is a silhouette of me beneath the Milky Way at Sotol Lookout in Big Bend National Park, taken by Michaela. I’ll begin with monochrome images and gradually share more of the story; on release day, the photos will shift to full color.

I’m glad to be sharing something with you again. Thank you for being here through the quiet stretch. I’ll post updates here as the story unfolds, and “Beauty Keeper” will be out November 9, with early content on the way for you here.
