About the Sideman Song Swap
What to expect
The Sideman Song Swap(SSS) is an acoustic concert series started in 2020 by host Michael Kelton. Since then, the SSS has held residencies at some of Texas’ most iconic singer-songwriter venues including Gruene Hall, The Saxon Pub, The Post at River East, and the Redbird Listening Room.
Imagine taking your seat in an intimate setting that’s somewhere between your living room and a small town theater. Kelton and one of his hand- selected guests take the stage and welcome you into what is guaranteed to be an unforgettable evening of celebrating the magic of heartfelt songwriting. As they flow back and forth, sharing their favorite stories of, and contributions to the Texas music landscape, they welcome you into the conversation. While illustrating the hardships and the victories that make them bonafide troubadours, they open their hearts through the art of songwriting in a way that only an artist alone with their instrument can. By the end of the night, you feel a warm connection to the music, the artist, and the love that drew them to, and tethers them to the highway and the stage.
